Russell County now has 5 active cases of COVID-19.
It was announced on Tuesday that Russell County had one new case, then yesterday afternoon the Lake Cumberland District Health Department announced Russell County had four new cases. One of the active cases is a 7-year-old child who, according to health officials, is asymptomatic.
There are now 14 active cases in the Lake Cumberland area, in addition to 5 in Russell County, three are 4 in Pulaski, 3 in Casey, and one each in Taylor and Adair.
So far, 26 persons in the Lake Cumberland area district have died from the virus out of 231 total cases.
