New COVID-19 Case in Russell County

Six news cases of the coronavirus were reported yesterday in the Lake Cumberland area, including one new case in Russell County.

According to the Lake Cumberland District Health Department, the six new cases include 2 in Adair, and 1 each in Russell, Pulaski, Taylor and Wayne counties.

Judge Executive Gary Robertson says the new case in Russell County is a 68-year-old female who is on home isolation.   This brings the total active cases in Russell county to 8, with all on home isolation except one who is hospitalized in Somerset.

Public health officials say COVID-19 is still spreading freely through our communities, and the best chance for slowing the spread is for everyone to wear a mask when out in public, to avoid crowds, to social distance (stay 6-feet from others), to wash their hands with soap and water often and thoroughly, to stay home if they have a fever or are coughing, to increase sanitation, and to avoid touching their faces.
