Former Adair County Judge-Executive Richard Lee Walker dies

Funeral services will be held tomorrow in Columbia for Richard Lee Walker, a well-known area real estate broker and former County Judge Executive in Adair county

Rchard Lee Walker, age 77, died Wednesday in Louisville

Walker served as Adair County Judge Executive from 1985 to 1993 and began working in real estate in 1973 after establishing Walker Realty.   He also served as Chairman of the Lake Cumberland Area Development District, chairman of the Lake Cumberland District Health Department, and was a member of the Board of Trustees of Lindsey Wilson College.


Richard earned his real estate sales associate license in 1973. That step would lead him to a 47-year career in real estate sales, brokerage and development. He was owner and principal broker of Walker Realty until his death.


Richard Lee Walker is survived by Marsha, his wife of 57 years;  A daughter Leigh Ann (Mike) Parkinson of Nashville; and his son Dicky (Amy) Walker of Columbia  Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in Columbia.
