After rejecting the only bid it received last month for blacktop and rock for county roads, the fiscal court received only one bid again at their meeting Monday night.
Last month, after opening the only bid submitted from Gaddie Shamrock, the county magistrates wanted to re-bid the county’s contract for blacktop and rock in hopes of getting other bidders or cheaper prices.
On Monday night, again the only bid submitted was from Gaddie Shamrock, and as County Judge Executive Gary Robertson explains, the bid prices were, for the most part, the same…
Robertson said it was important to have a contract price for blacktop and rock because without a contract, any expenditure by the county of more than $30,000 requires newspaper advertisement and a waiting process of about 30 days. The Court accepted the bids from Gaddie Shamrock on the products for the next fiscal year.
