The filing deadline for city council and school board elections in Russell County is quickly approaching.
Persons interested in serving on either the Jamestown or Russell Springs City Council, or as member of the school board in certain districts, have until 4 o’clock tomorrow afternoon to file their papers at the county clerk’s office.
So far, very few candidates have filed for positions on either city council. Neither Jamestown nor Russell Springs Mayor positions are on the ballot this year, just city council seats.
