Lindsey Wilson President William T. Luckey made the announcement on Friday. three months before the scheduled date for students to move back to the dorms in August.
In his statement, Luckey said he had assembled a team of faculty, staff, students and trustees to gain as much input as possible in arriving at this decision to open safely.
Campus leaders say protocols will be put in place for individuals who are at risk and will allow them to study or work from home.
For new incoming students enrollment deadlines have been extended. In addition, precautionary measures will be in place for campus visits and new student orientation will proceed virtually.
