A Russell County man has been indicted by a Wayne County Grand Jury on numerous felony offenses.
According to reports, 34-year-old Barney Warner of Russell Springs was indicted last week on four counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, first degree, methamphetamine; four counts of possession of a handgun or firearm by a convicted felon; and persistent felony offender.
The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at a Monticello motel early last month. Warner remains lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. The Monticello Police Department is leading the investigation.
WJRS News reminds everyone that an indictment is only an allegation, and that further court action is necessary in these matters.
