Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

Just after 9:00 Sunday evening, Officer Lucas Justice with the Russell Springs Police Department observed a vehicle traveling North on Hwy 127. Officer Justice determined the vehicles tag to be expired. Upon a traffic stop and contact with the driver Officer Justice learned the operator to have two outstanding warrants of arrest.

Verbal consent to search was granted. Upon search Officer Justice locating suspected Methamphetamine. As a result, Nathan Rooks, 35 of Russell Springs was arrested and charged with. No Registration Plates, No Registration Receipt, Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense. Rooks was also served with two warrants.

He was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center. Officer Justice was assisted at the scene by Russell County Sheriff’s Deputy John Wine.
