Locally, the flu and widespread sickness has forced the cancellation of classes in neighboring Casey County this week, and other nearby school districts, so far attendance records for Russell County schools have been about average.
WJRS Local News talked recently with Patty Meece, Health Coordinator for the school district, on what to watch for as far as flu symptoms, and when a child should stay home from school…
Meece also discussed some things students and parents can do to help avoid the flu and help prevent it’s spread to others…
Meece says that in addition to following recommendations of a student’s physician, anyone needing more information could contact the local school nurse.
