Attendance Back to Normal in School District

Sickness among students and staff forced cancellation of schools last week in Russell County.    Classes were cancelled last Thursday and Friday due to attendance numbers earlier in the week being below 90% district wide.

Students returned to class yesterday, and according to school officials, attendance numbers were back around normal.   Russell Springs elementary school has the highest attendance yesterday at 95.48%, while Salem elementary school had the lowest attendance yesterday at 91.04%    District wide, the attendance rate was 93.74%.    Several area schools were also closed last week and most of those districts also resumed classes yesterday.
