According to Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman, the accident occurred on Monday, January 20th just before 10:00 am about 7 miles west of Columbia on KY 80.
Preliminary investigation shows that 18-year-old James Kelsay of Columbia was operating a 1990 Dodge truck westbound on Edmonton Road, when he crossed the centerline, striking a 2013 Honda SUV being operated by 70-year-old Diane Haynes of Columbia. Haynes vehicle then left the roadway and struck an earth embankment.
Both Kelsay and Haynes were treated on scene by Adair EMS and then transported to TJ Health Columbia.
Adair County Deputy Chandler Staten is investigating the accident.
