Beshear will speak to Kentucky lawmakers at 6 o’clock this evening and outline his priorities for spending in the state’s $23 billion budget. The address to state lawmakers will be televised live on KET. After Beshear introduces his budget plan and spending priorities, the House and Senate, in that order, will each get their own shot at writing budget proposals. A final compromise between the two chambers will need to be completed and on Beshear’s desk by the time lawmakers adjourn for the year on April 15.
