An attempt to serve an arrest warrant on an Adair County man Sunday morning led to a scary encounter. According to reports, Adair County Deputy Sheriff Chandler Staten responded to 901 Jones Chapel Road in Adair County to serve outstanding warrants on Vincent J. Bach, age 33, for Failure to Appear and two warrants from Russell County District Court. Deputy Staten stated that when he went onto the porch and knocked on the door, Bach placed a pistol out the door and into the face of Deputy Staten.
After a few minutes and While at gunpoint, Staten was able to finally coerce the suspect into lowering his weapon. Bach was then taken into custody and lodged in the Adair County Detention Center. Further charges are expected to be filed soon in the matter.
