The Russell County Board of Education will hold a tax hearing beginning at 5:30 pm on Thursday, September 5th at the board central office in Jamestown. Then, at 6 pm, the board will meet in a special called meeting to accepts the tax rates. The proposed rates of 52.2 for real estate and personal property, 52.2 for vehicle and utility at 3 percent will keep the current rates unchanged. Public comment will also be allowed during the meeting.
