The Russell County Community Blood Drive is today from noon until 5:00 pm in the community room at South Kentucky RECC in Jamestown. All donors will be registered to win a $500 Visa gift card and one donor will win a $100 gift card sponsored by Jax’s Cool Convenience. Another donor will win a $50 Walmart gift card and another will win a one-night stay in a Lodge Room or Cottage and two dinner buffets at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park. Today’s drive is in honor of local EMT/firefighter Michael “Brad” Loy, who suffered a medical emergency while on duty on July 27th. Loy is currently at home with his wife and daughter and is focusing on his recovery. During his time in the hospital, he received at least 10 units of blood.
