A new state record saugeye was recently caught on Cumberland River below Wolf Creek Dam, according to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Clay Smith landed the 8 pound, 8-ounce fish with a pink and white Berkley Flicker Shad crankbait.
Saugeye are a cross between walleye and sauger and are a favorite among anglers on the Cumberland River.
