Cumberland County Man Killed in Two Vehicle Accident

A Cumberland County man was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Kentucky State Police.

Trooper Jason Warinner is investigating the fatal collision that occurred Wednesday at approximately 1:47 pm, 1 mile west of Burkesville on Hwy 90.  Preliminary investigations show that 63-year-old Roger Spivey of Celina, Tennessee, was traveling west on KY 90 in a 1996 Dodge Ram and attempted to make a left turn when he was struck on the driver side by a 2005 Harley-Davidson being driven by 79-year-old Leslie Thrasher of Burkesville.

Spivey, along with a passenger, 56-year-old Teresa Spivey of Celina, were both wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.  Thrasher was wearing a helmet and was transported to Cumberland County Hospital by EMS where he was pronounced dead.

Trooper Warinner was assisted at the scene by Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, Burkesville Police Department, Cumberland County EMS, Burkesville and Marrowbone Fire Departments, Cumberland County Rescue and Emergency Management.
