Ambulance Services Continues Interlocal Agreement to Help Fund 911

WJRS NEWS has learned the Russell County Ambulance Service Board of Directors has chosen to continue as a contributing partner to fund 911 services as part of an interlocal agreement with several other local entities.

The board has agreed to pay their $25,000 portion to help run 911. The cities of Jamestown and Russell Springs, as well as the fiscal court, agreed to the interlocal agreement funding earlier this year. Russell County Judge-Executive Gary Robertson said the ambulance board, which was 6 months behind in payments regarding the agreement, is now catching up on those payments by paying around $3,125 per month to help fund 911.

The ambulance board meets tonight at 6 pm at the ambulance service building on Ferco Way in Jamestown at 6 pm for their regular monthly meeting. The meeting is open to the public.
