Local first responders will be conducting a mock accident at the high school this morning to warn students about the dangers of drinking and driving, and distracted driving.
The mock accident is set to take place at 9 a.m. with Russell County EMS, local law enforcement and fire departments, as well as the Russell County Rescue Squad, Coroner’s Office, Air Methods, Air Medical, and others involved.
Local first responders want the public to be aware that multiple emergency vehicles will be at the school, but this is only an exercise and not a true emergency.
With prom coming up this weekend and graduation in less than a month, local first responders say they want to do all they can to encourage students to make safe and wise decisions.
