Jamestown Elementary has its new principal and it’s a Russell County graduate.
Zach Smith, a 2009 graduate of Russell County High School, was selected as the new principal at Jamestown Elementary School last night by the school-based decision making council.
Smith is a lifelong resident of Russell County and has served as a social studies teacher at Northern Middle School in Pulaski County, and most recently, a school counselor at Pulaski Elementary School.
In a statement last night, Superintendent Michael Ford said he is confident that Smith’s leadership will bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a renewed sense of enthusiasm to Jamestown.
