Russell Springs Police are investigating an altercation in the Middletown community that left two men seriously injured last night.
Chief Bryan Shepard told WJRS NEWS the incident occurred at a residence around 8:00 p.m.
Police were notified after Mark Robert May, 35, drove himself to Russell County Hospital where he was initially treated for nine stab wounds to several parts of his body. He was then flown to U.K. Medical Center for further treatment.
About an hour later, a caller reported a man with blood on his head and shirt walking along Geneva Drive before coming onto the caller’s porch. City and county officers found Marvin Villela, 21, of Russell Springs. Russell County EMS took him to the local hospital for treatment of head injuries, believed to have been caused by a hammer.
A search warrant was obtained for May’s vehicle as part of the ongoing investigation being conducted by Officers Chris Tweedy and Kendall Catron, Lieutenant Bobby Pritchard and Chief Bryan Shepard.
