Lake Liberty Loses Ground Amid Heat and Limited Rainfall

Lake Liberty has lost ground over the past two weeks as dry and hot conditions continue.

According to city officials, the lake is now approximately 16 feet below full pool, compared with about 15 feet below full pool during the previous update.

Crews continue pumping water into the lake around the clock at a rate of approximately 800,000 gallons per day. However, daily water usage is averaging around 1.3 million gallons.

Officials say the latest numbers underscore the continued importance of water conservation, noting every gallon saved helps support both the lake level and the ongoing pumping operation.

Lake levels will continue to be closely monitored, with additional updates to be provided as conditions change. PHOTO CREDIT: City of Liberty
