The Russell County Lady Laker Softball team opened its season with a win on the road at Green County last night by a score of 15-3.
Rylen McGowan hit her first home-run of the season in the victory as part of a two-hit performance.
Camdin Cooper led the Lady Lakers with 3 hits and a pair of runs batted in.
Addy Abrell drove in a team-high 3 runs for the Lady Lakers on 2 hits.
Mickenzie McClure, Madelyn Roy, and Paisley Eads each finished with 2 hits also.
In the pitchers circle, Brylie Jo Hardwick allowed just 1 earned run and struck out 2 batters.
The Lady Lakers are scheduled to host LaRue County this evening.
