Russell County Middle School student Porter Branscum was recognized at the Russell County Fiscal Court meeting this week.
Branscum, who is the daughter of Josh and Kara Branscum, was recognized by the court for her 3rd place finish in the Kentucky Association of Counties “I Love My Kentucky County” art contest. There were more than 400 entries in the contest from across the state.
Judge Executive Randy Marcum said Branscum made Russell County proud with her painting of The Rockhouse Arch in Creelsboro.
Branscum was presented with a special Russell County Bicentennial coin at this week’s fiscal court meeting.
She was also recognized at this year’s KACO Conference and her artwork will be included in the organization’s 2026 calendar.
