February Unemployment Rates

Unemployment rates rose in 59 Kentucky counties between February 2019 and February 2020, fell in 48, and stayed the same in 13 counties, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics, an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.

Locally, unemployment was slightly lower in Russell, Casey, Green, and Taylor Counties, unchanged in Adair County, and slightly up in Cumberland and Metcalfe Counties.

Russell 5.7%

Adair 5.8%

Casey 4.1%

Cumberland 5.4%

Green 4.3%

Metcalfe 5.1%

Taylor 4.0%

Oldham County recorded the states lowest unemployment rate at 2.9% with Magoffin County recording the state’s highest unemployment rate at 16 percent.
