The Jamestown City Council met in special session yesterday to discuss a possible Jeep event later this year.
Representatives from the 606 Jeepin Association based out of Somerset and other Jeep enthusiasts from the community were in attendance at the meeting to discuss ideas for a Jeep event with the council.
Discussion at last night’s meeting lasted for around two hours with ideas discussed back-and-forth between members of the council and those interested in being involved. Mayor Regena Hinton said a city committee will look to begin ironing out some details for an October event.
Initial ideas included a Jeep show with trophies and prizes, as well as an event where participants will follow a designated route, stopping at several checkpoints.
We’ll provide more details about the event as they are made available.
