The annual Lakefest celebration in Jamestown gets underway this evening.
Events get underway with the annual pageants starting at 5 p.m.
There are pageants for multiple age groups, from babies up to the Mrs. pageant.
Tammy Wilkerson is one of the organizers of the Lakefest pageants. She was recently a guest on Community Conversation on WJRS and reminded those planning to participate that the pageants are casual dress only.
Cut-off for pageant registration is at 4:30 this evening and numbers must be picked up before 5 p.m.
Tonight’s Lakefest events also include a recognition of the Russell County Wrestling Team at 5 p.m.
Triple Crown Wrestling will take the ring at 6 this evening for the Bicentennial Brawl.
Vendors will be set up for this evening’s events.
