Russell County Hospital is set to host a groundbreaking for its major expansion/renovation project in less than a week.
The ongoing project was a topic of discussion at yesterday’s hospital board meeting as preparations are underway for the groundbreaking ceremony on Monday.
WJRS News caught up with hospital CEO Scott Thompson following the meeting. He said the groundbreaking is the result of several years of planning by hospital leadership.
The expansion will provide a new operating room, new emergency room, new equipment, a new front lobby registration space and new radiology department, among other improvements.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Monday at 11 a.m.
