A Tennessee man was recently indicted on two charges of assault and other charges after he allegedly assaulted first responders as they worked the scene of a fatal traffic accident.
Yesterday on local news, we reported 47-year-old Joel Ray Hammack was indicted in Adair County on murder and other charges following a December traffic accident that resulted in the death of a child.
A passenger in Hammack’s vehicle, 45-year-old Walter Ray Nichols of Tennessee, was also indicted in Adair County. Nichols is accused of assaulting the Columbia-Adair County Fire Chief and a constable as they worked at the scene of that wreck in December.
Nichols remains lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
