The Laker and Lady Laker Basketball teams were victorious in a district doubleheader at Monroe County Friday night.
The Lady Lakers came away with a 30-point victory in the first game, defeating the Lady Falcons 58-28.
Aniyah Coffey led Russell County with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Natalie Bartrug and Addison Hart each scored 11 for the Lady Lakers.
In the nightcap, the Lakers defeated the Falcons 71-68 in overtime as Logan Walters hit a three pointer with just a few seconds remaining on the clock to give the Lakers the win.
Owen Loy led Russell County with 21 points on the night, followed by Mayes Gosser with 18 and Walters with 14.
The Lady Lakers are scheduled to take on South Warren at home tonight at 7 p.m.
The Lakers are scheduled to host Mercer County tomorrow, with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
