Jamestown man arrested, charged with assault of a police officer

A Jamestown man was arrested early Sunday morning on charges including assaulting a police officer.

36-year-old Jesse R. Burchett was arrested by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office and charged with assault third degree of a police officer, resisting arrest, menacing, and disorderly conduct second degree.

Burchett was arrested by Deputy Tyler Pearson with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center just after 1 a.m. Sunday.
