The Russell County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a vehicle pursuit last night that started near Wolf Creek Dam and ended in Clinton County.
Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston said Deputy Tyler Pearson attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the dam at around 11:00 last night, but the vehicle quickly turned, nearly striking Pearson head-on.
Deputies initiated a pursuit on the vehicle, operated by Corey Sheppard of Jamestown, which later ended in Clinton County.
Sheppard has multiple outstanding warrants, and more charges pending, according to Polston.
The sheriff’s office said Sheppard should be considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Corey Sheppard is asked to contact Russell County Dispatch at (270)343-6600 or the Russell County Sheriff’s Office at (270)343-2191.
