Several events took place over the weekend as the Russell County Fair got underway.
In the horse show Friday night, local winners included:
Remi Ballenger – Lead Line class
Randa Ballenger – Western Pleasure Class 6 and 10
Kellie Calloway – Arabian/Half Arabian Halter and Western Pleasure class
Olivia Smith – Ladies Pleasure Racking and Spotted Pleasure classes
Also on Friday night, Bryanna Smith and Smithland Angus came away with the Supreme Championship Bull in the Beef Show.
Saturday night was demolition derby night at the fair.
Jayden Johnson took first place in the youth class, Nathan Groce took first in the big car, and B.J. Passmore took first in the small car.
