The Laker Baseball team will open play in the Clark’s Pump-N-Shop State Tournament Thursday morning.
The Lakers will play in the first game of the state tournament, taking on 8th Region Champion Simon Kenton with first pitch scheduled for 9 a.m. CT.
The Lakers and Pioneers will face off at Legends Field in Lexington.
Simon Kenton defeated Woodford County 5-2 in the 8th Region Championship on Saturday.
The winner will advance to the second round to play either Trinity or Pikeville.
