The Russell County Fiscal Court gave approval to a new inter-local 911 agreement at its meeting earlier this week.
The new agreement calls for a five-year contract, with a clause that allows the parties to renegotiate if expenses rise above a certain amount.
County Judge Executive Randy Marcum spoke to WJRS News about the new agreement.
Under the new agreement, each city and the ambulance board will contribute $35,000 annually toward 911 operations.
