7th graders win at Clinton County, 6th and 8th grade teams fall short

The Russell County Middle School Lakers Basketball team won 1 of 3 at Clinton County on Thursday.

The 7th grade team won 40-25 with Mannix Bell leading the scoring with 11 points. Alex Norton and Tyson Stille added 7 points each, while Gabe Browning scored 6, Jace Skaggs scored 4, Tanner Stringer and Jaden Wooten added 2 points each, and Ty Coffey scored 1 point.

The 6th grade team fell by a score of 33-20. Myles Davis led the scoring with 6 points, Talen Huckaby scored 5 points, Landon Bryant and Julian Popplewell scored 3 points each, Gunner Godbey scored 2 points, and Keenan Stille scored 1 point.

The 8th grade team fell by a score of 51-39. Noah McMillin led the scoring with 10 points, followed by Dylan Stanelle with 8, Noah Bennett with 7, Walker Stephens with 5, Max Davis with 4, Maddox Shearer and Kinnett Wills with 2 points each, and Webber Wilson with 1 point.

The RCMS Lakers will go on the road Monday to Casey County.
