Summer Fun Continues at Joseph Smith Hayes Memorial Pool

The Joseph Smith Hayes Memorial Pool at Russell Springs City Park has enjoyed a busy summer, according to pool manager Scott Jones.

Jones told WJRS NEWS that several additions have received positive feedback from parents and children, including Tuesday night swims, karaoke and an efficient concession stand offering a variety of food.

With the summer season winding down, the pool will begin operating under revised hours next week.

Jones said a second night swim and keeping the pool open well past Labor Day are being considered for next summer. Staying open longer in September was suggested by Councilman Ricky Barnes during Thursday night’s city council meeting.
