During Monday morning’s meeting of the Russell County Fiscal Court, county officials kept the real property tax rate at 6.4 cents per 100 dollars of assessed value, while the tangible property tax rate will remain at 9.2 cents.
Russell County Judge Executive Randy Marcum said the county’s rates, along with those for the Russell County Health Department and Extension Office, will stay the same as the previous year.
The Russell County Health Department’s tax rate will remain at .0425 across the board.
Rates for the Russell County Extension Office will also remain unchanged, at .039 for real property, .0707 for personal property, and .0239 for motor vehicles.
Marcum said the county’s other taxing districts will need to submit their proposed rates in time for consideration and approval at next month’s fiscal court meeting
