One-Vehicle Crash Sends Columbia Woman to Hospital

A one-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Bernard Ridge Road sent a young Adair County woman to the hospital.

Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston told WJRS NEWS the crash happened just after 10 a.m. on Kentucky 619.

Deputy Chad Fox’s investigation determined 20-year-old Alyssa Skaggs of Columbia was driving a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am when the vehicle dropped off the shoulder of the roadway. Skaggs reportedly overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest on its top.
