Shawn Sovel Stephens, age 54, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Good Samaritan Hospital – Lexington.
He was born on Thursday, November 04 1971, in Somerset, Kentucky.

He is survived by a special uncle, Jimmy George and seven grandchildren, Elliot Harris, Anaya Baker, Harper Baker, Raelynn Baker, Zander Litton, Brooks Dale Stephens and Brylie Stephens
.
He was a counselor for the Department of Juvenile Justice, and a man of faith. He was very family oriented, enjoying any opportunity to share stories with family and friends. He was passionate about local athletics, loved farming, outdoor leisure activities and golfing. He played football for Russell County High School and Campbellsville University.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.
Visitation will be 6:00–8:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2026 at Wilson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Bernard Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY.
