A Windsor man was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle wreck on West Highway 80 Thursday evening.
The Russell County Sheriff’s Office said 19-year-old Jeremiah Nickens was traveling west on Highway 80 near Royville in a 2016 GMC Sierra when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a utility pole.
The vehicle flipped on impact and knocked down the utility pole, breaking multiple lines.
Nickens was transported to Russell County Hospital for injuries sustained in the collision.
The wreck knocked out power for hundreds of homes and businesses in the area. South Kentucky RECC responded the scene and was able to later restore power to those impacted.
The Russell Springs Fire Department, Russell County EMS, and several residents in the area also responded to the scene.
Deputy Chad Fox is the investigating officer.
