Wayne County pharmacist Joe Silvers receives LCDHD Public Health Award

Joe Silvers, a well-known pharmacist in Wayne County, has been named the recipient of the 2026 Dr. Hossein Fallahzadeh Public Health Hero Award by the Lake Cumberland District Health Department.

The award is given annually to an individual who has made remarkable contributions to improving public health in the Lake Cumberland District. The award is presented as part of National Public Health Week.

Silvers was recognized for his many years of work as a community pharmacist in the Lake Cumberland area and serving on the Lake Cumberland District Board of Health and the Wayne County Board of Health.

The award is named in honor of its first recipient, the late Dr. Hossein Fallahzadeh, a long-time surgeon in Somerset and board member for the District Board of Health.
