This week on local news, we’ve reported that the Russell County Industrial Development Authority is purchasing a piece of property just under 68 acres off French Valley Road adjacent to the Lake Cumberland Regional Industrial Complex Site 1.
WJRS News caught up with Russell County IDA Chair Clint Voils to discuss the IDA’s purchase of the Rexroat property near French Valley Road and Highway 127.
Voils said the IDA has been looking for potential property for some time, and the family approached the IDA about purchasing this piece of property.
Voils also discussed future plans for a new road on the property that will go out onto Highway 127.
Overall, Voils said business recruitment is a long process and the purchase of the property helps business recruitment in the long-term.
The purchase of the property includes funding from the Kentucky Product Development Initiative totaling around $1.2 million with a little over $200,000 from the IDA.
