Only two weeks remain for anyone not yet registered to vote to do so in time for the upcoming primary election.
The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, April 20 by 4 p.m.
Voter registration can be done online or by visiting the Russell County Clerk’s Office.
This year’s primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19 with early no-excuse voting taking place May 14, 15 and 16.
The Republican primary includes contested races for judge-executive, sheriff, county clerk, and magistrate in every district except District 2. The Republican primary also includes races for U.S. Representative and U.S. Senator.
The Democrat primary only includes a contested race for U.S. Senator.
