Sheriff’s Office investigating reported break-in at county recycling facility

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported break-in at the county recycling center on Landfill Road.

Authorities are uncertain of when exactly the break-in occurred, but authorities say it happened late last night or in the early morning hours. Sheriff Derek Polston told WJRS News he was made aware of the break-in at around 6:30 this morning.

Authorities are still determining what was taken from the facility, but multiple tools have been reported missing as well as some electronics.

The sheriff’s office is asking that anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area last night or early this morning to contact the sheriff’s office at 270-343-2191 or call 911.
