A Russell Springs man was arrested yesterday evening after a car he was operating collided with a tree.
It happened a little before 6:00 yesterday on Meadowlark Drive, off Highway 1545 also known as Bottoms Road.
The Russell County Sheriff’s Office said 35-year-old Cecil Stacy of Russell Springs was operating a 2013 Dodge Dart on Lakeway Drive when he allegedly passed out behind the wheel and the car collided with a tree at the end of the street.
Stacy and a female passenger in the vehicle received minor injuries in the collision.
The sheriff’s office transported Stacy to Russell County Hospital to be medically cleared. The sheriff’s office said he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving.
The female passenger was transported by private vehicle to Russell County Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Russell County EMS assisted at the scene. Deputy Chad Fox with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
