Highway 127 was shut down for about five hours Saturday morning as crews worked the scene of a truck wreck.
Officials say it happened at around 6:30 Saturday morning near the intersection of South Highway 127 and York Road, about two miles from Wolf Creek Dam.
According to the Jamestown Fire Department, when first responders arrived, they encountered a large box truck had went off the roadway and traveled about 75 feet down a steep embankment. The driver of the truck suffered only minor injuries in the accident.
He told first responders he lost control of the large truck in the curve and the vehicle rolled over the guardrail and down the embankment.
Highway 127 was closed for about five hours as crews worked the scene, as well as a small grass fire in the area.
The Russell County Sheriff’s Office, Russell County EMS, and the state highway department worked the scene as well.
No other injuries were reported.
