The Fire Chief of the Albany Fire Department was injured in the line of duty on Sunday.
Randy Speck with WANY in Albany that it happened at a residence on Tobin Ridge off Wisdom Dock Road at around 6:00 Sunday evening.
Fire Chief Robert Roeper was working to extinguish a tree on fire when the tree reportedly fell on him. He was airlifted to a hospital in Nashville. Reports are Roeper suffered extensive injuries including multiple broken bones and burns on his body.
