Two deaths reported in Clinton County house fire on Wednesday

Two people are dead following a house fire in Clinton County early Wednesday morning.

According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews were called to a structure fire just before 6:40 a.m. on Koger Mountain Road. When firefighters arrived, they discovered two individuals inside a rear bedroom of the home. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims have not yet been identified and are currently listed as Jane Doe and John Doe pending notification of family members.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials say, at this time, no foul play is suspected.

The case is being handled by the Sheriff’s Office in coordination with the Kentucky State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Clinton County Coroner’s Office. The bodies have been sent to the State Forensic Pathologist for further examination.
