A Monticello man died as the result of a motorcycle vs car collision on Highway 90 in Wayne County Saturday afternoon.
Kentucky State Police say 26-year-old Christian Vanover was operating a 2025 Harley Davidson westbound on Highway 90 near Hall Road when he collided with the rear of a 2008 Honda Odyssey operated by 57-year-old Cynthia Smith of Somerset.
Authorities say after colliding with Smith’s vehicle, Vanover left the roadway and went down an earth embankment.
Vanover was transported by Wayne County EMS to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was later transferred to the University of Kentucky Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Smith and a passenger in her vehicle did not suffer any injuries during the collision.
The accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
